Esperanza
What can we say about Zeballos? Remote, small and a former mining town, in other words not much. However when it comes to fishing this place leaves us speechless. Every fisherman knows when looking for exceptional catch nothing beats remote locations. Zeballos is no exception, waters here are rich with fish and you will have hard time seeing other anglers near by. That translates in some of the best catches around Vancouver Island just take a look in our gallery. The Esperanza inlet will give you the most beautiful mountain range you will ever see and is also a back passage to get to Nootka sound and Thasis township if we need to fish in calmer waters.
In order to experience that type of fishing we take you on a multi day tour where you will have plenty of opportunities to catch your trophy fish and take your limit catch home. Only a handful of guides know these waters the way Captain Serge does and that number is only shrinking. He has explored every nook and cranny of this gorgeous inlet and he will get you on the fish no matter what the weather or water conditions are. You have found a guide to some of the exceptional fishing on this planet now its your opportunity to discover it.
How do you get there?
first you will need to drive to Zeballos township that is about six hour drive from Victoria or from Campbell River it is about two and a half hours. Finally to get into township you will have to drive on a gravel road that is very well maintained like a highway for about half an hour.
If driving that long do not appeal to you second option is you could take a seaplane direct to Zeballos.
From Zeballos township it takes about half an hour to get to the open ocean to an unbelievably rich fishing grounds. Late in the summer we often fish inside the inlet as this time of year the ocean could be very rough due to high winds. Inlet provides a perfect cover so we are able to still keep on fishing in calmer waters while getting plenty of fish on our lines.
